Crimson & Co appoints Peter Garnett to head up Procurement division
Crimson & Co has announced it has appointed heavyweight procurement professional, Peter Garnett, to lead its Procurement practice in a move to expand on Crimson & Co’s recent growth in this area.
With a history of senior line roles and consulting in blue chip companies such as CSC, Sanofi-Aventis, Fisons, Greenalls Breweries and GSK Pharmaceuticals, Peter brings a wealth of experience and best practice in multi-national food, leisure, drinks and pharmaceutical organisations.
Peter joins Crimson & Co from The Procurement Think Tank where he was a Director, leading the procurement transformation of a large professional services organisation and designing the global supply chain strategy for a leading pharmaceutical company, amongst other profit improvement and risk reduction projects.
Crimson & Co’s Managing Director, Richard Powell commented: “We’re really pleased about this new appointment, expanding our capabilities in procurement even further and strengthening our offered services. Peter is a well-known name within the industry and bringing him on board is an exciting prospect for us.
“Peter’s appointment marks a prosperous time for us. Business is up around 30% and we are constantly looking to improve our offering to our clients, and the experience Peter brings is second to none.”
Peter has led major cost reduction, sourcing strategy, and procurement and supply chain transformation assignments in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors – with recent emphasis within oil and gas, aerospace and defence, nuclear, energy, transport, pharmaceuticals, FMCG and professional services.
Peter aims to develop the procurement arm of the business and harness clients’ people capabilities, stating, “behavioural competency is more important today than a toolkit of skills and Crimson & Co understands this, placing people capabilities at the heart of operations.
“Crimson & Co is an agile company covering the full breadth of the supply chain, not just procurement, and I was really impressed with the knowledge and ambition shown by the directors, and within the organisation more generally too. It’s unique in its approach and really sets itself apart from the competition, which is why I was drawn to them,” concluded Peter.
