Booz & Company launches Booz Digital
NEW YORK — Booz & Company announced that Axon Advisory Partners, a Los Angeles–based digital advisory team, has joined the firm to launch Booz Digital. With the addition of Axon Advisory Partners, Booz & Company becomes the first global premier strategy consulting firm to offer end-to-end digital solutions, from strategy to design to execution. Booz Digital is a full-service team of strategists, designers, and technologists who help companies turn ideas into transformational digital businesses.
“Digital solutions are among the critical capabilities that are necessary to succeed in today’s world. Axon Advisory Partners has the strategic and operational expertise to design world-beating digital businesses, and they are as passionate about helping clients win as we are. Strategically and culturally, it’s a great fit,” said Les Moeller, Booz & Company managing director of North America.
Rapidly evolving technology is leading to digital transformation across every industry and elevating digital issues to the CEO agenda. In fact, market research company Gartner predicts that by 2015 a new C-suite executive will have emerged—the chief digital officer. Digital solutions, once merely an afterthought, have risen to be a strategic component of every function, at every level of business.
“Creating the right digital solutions affects every aspect of the value chain. Booz & Company has a unique mix of strategic and functional expertise. We believe that by combining strategy, design, and execution, Booz Digital offers a fundamentally new approach, and is the first global premier strategy consulting firm to deliver end-to-end digital solutions,“ said Jeff Schumacher, founding partner of Axon Advisory Partners; former executive vice president, chief marketing officer, and chief strategy officer for Sports Authority; and former partner at McKinsey & Company.
Since 1965, Moore’s Law has held fast and true—with little sign of slowing. Although no industry has been immune to disruption, the mind-blowing growth of Internet-connected devices and custom digital experiences offers companies the opportunity to take leadership positions.
Typically, companies designing and implementing digital solutions manage the project across multiple vendors. The strategists create the digital solution and then hand it off to designers, who feed the developers or systems integrators.
“As an EVP at Sports Authority, I saw firsthand the mounting disruption in the retail industry from digital technology. We made several significant digital investments and experienced the challenge of multiple handoffs between providers, which increased costs, risks, and diluted accountability,” said Schumacher. “Having had to solve this complexity at Sports Authority, we have the know-how at Booz Digital to solve these issues for our clients. By fielding a multidisciplinary team of strategic thought leaders, customer experience designers, and functional business experts with real-world operator experience, Booz Digital partners with clients through the entire value chain to capture incremental value and deliver an end-to-end digital solution. In short, we bridge the strategy-to-execution gap.”
Booz Digital is launching in North America, anchored in Los Angeles. However, companies may contact any Booz & Company global office for access to this service offering.
