The first of its kind solution incorporates advanced support, security, global reach and transformation capabilities into a new laboratory information management solution.

CSC launches total quality management solution for labs

FALLS CHURCH, Va. -– CSC announced the launch of CSC LabAssure, a total quality management solution that improves laboratory quality, maximizes throughput of continuous processes, ensures regulatory and safety standard compliance, and boosts efficiency. The solution enables laboratories to more efficiently perform rigorous testing and continuously monitor in real time more cost-effectively.

Delivered securely as a service, LabAssure integrates laboratory processes and data for faster, more effective response to dynamic customer needs, and provides tools to reduce costs associated with laboratory procedures. The end-to-end solution offers a range of laboratory information management services including consulting, implementation, upgrades, instrument integration, application integration and around-the-clock support.

Companies that view their laboratories as assets have a competitive advantage. Laboratories have a treasure trove of information that can be harvested. Providers of quality operations solutions that can cost-effectively and securely enable executives to gather data and use it to enhance the customer experience are ahead of the curve.

In a recent report by Gartner Research, Inc., Michael Shanler, research director, states: “Many legacy systems have been adapted over time to support old processes and have resulted in low performance. Users frequently talk to us about vendor shortcomings, poor initial strategy, unplanned changes in technology requirements, and the general inability to support change control for laboratory and business processes.” He continues, “Gartner clients frequently engage us with retrospective conversations about bloated costs, poor ROI, and excessive effort to make LIMS work for current business processes. Many are concerned about the ability to support future business needs.”

LabAssure incorporates the Thermo Scientific Informatics product portfolio, a suite of laboratory software solutions including LIMS, and can migrate the laboratory environment “as is” or to a new, state-of-the-art solution. This process incorporates a comprehensive, modular set of business-led services called CSC’s FuturEdgeSM, which helps companies modernize laboratory application management systems and maintain business and IT alignment over the long term.

“We’ve been providing our clients with laboratory systems expertise for more than 15 years,” said Bob Welch, president, Energy and Natural Resources Industries. “By launching LabAssure, we are enabling companies across a variety of industries to address the complex total quality management challenges they face within the laboratory, including regulatory compliance, audit preparedness, testing and validation, and business reporting tools.”
