Frankfurt-based Armin Schmitt will steer Capco through new growth phase by closely aligning with client needs.

Capco’s Schmitt in expanded role for continental European operations

LONDON — Capco, a global business and technology consultancy dedicated solely to the financial services industry, confirmed that Partner Armin Schmitt will take responsibility for leading all Capco’s operations in Continental Europe, covering Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and Capco’s near shore centre based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Previously, Schmitt was Head of Capco’s operations in Germany, German-speaking Switzerland and Eastern Europe.

Schmitt’s expanded role positions him to build on the strengths of Capco’s European business as it continues the execution of its growth strategy. Recent developments include the setting up of Capco’s Bratislava-based near shore facility, together with a dedicated sourcing team to concentrate on leveraging the best of on-, near- and offshore client and Capco talent and capabilities.

Schmitt commented:“The unique mix of opportunities and challenges facing the financial services industry means that demand for Capco’s insight, experience and proven delivery capabilities continues to grow. To offer our existing and future clients the optimum service response, we have concentrated our offer in three key areas: consulting, sourcing and transformation. We believe these lines of business directly address our clients’ needs for innovation, increased customer satisfaction, reduced complexity and greater cost-effectiveness. Our consulting and transformation heartland is now strengthened by significant new developments in sourcing, driven by the establishment of a dedicated team. I am very excited to be given the opportunity to lead Capco’s operations in Continental Europe as we enter the next phase of our development.”

European CEO Peter Schurau added: “Armin has played a key role in successfully growing Capco’s operations in one of our major European markets, delivering outstanding work for our clients and providing exciting growth opportunities for our people. I am confident that his strong leadership and significant expertise in both the financial and professional services industries will stand him in good stead as Capco embarks on the next chapter in its development.”

Prior to joining Capco in 2007, Schmitt spent more than ten years in senior leadership roles with a number of consulting firms, including KPMG and BearingPoint. He has also worked within national and international financial services players, with senior roles including Co-Head of IT at DZ bank. Schmitt’s particular focus has been on post-merger integration, and in the design and delivery of major transformation programmes.
