Britain’s top consulting talent recognised at MCA Awards

The Management Consultancies Association (MCA) recognised the shining stars of the UK consulting industry at the Consultant of the Year Awards 2008, run in association with The Sunday Times, on 13 November 2008. Management consultants from across the UK entered the nine award categories, and the winners were from a range of firms including IBM and Accenture who each walked away with two of the prestigious awards. They inspire those thinking of a career in consulting, and motivate experienced consultants to strive to be the best. Clients rightly demand a huge amount from consultants – and for consultants it is not just about delivering what has been promised, but achieving beyond expectation. Entries this year were up by 25 percent so competition was fierce. Over 100 guests attended the awards ceremony in London. The nine award winners and finalists were: Best New Consultant

Hugo Were, President of the MCA 2008/09 commented: “I would like to congratulate all of the winners and finalists in each of the nine categories. With MCA members employing over 30,000 consultants in the UK, these awards really do recognise the elite of Britain’s consulting talent. The MCA continues to play a key role in recognising and motivating high performers and with entries up by a quarter on 2007; these awards are now a permanent fixture in the industry calendar. “At this economically challenging time, these awards highlight the important and valuable advice that consultants provide business and government. Those organisations that execute this advice will create more value and more jobs.” The MCA would like to thank the category sponsors; APM Group, BT Global Services, Collinson Grant, Depaul Trust, Freshminds, Sapient, Serco, and Turner & Townsend.
