Cirquent appoints new head of telecommunications & media

End-to-end consultancy firm Cirquent has appointed Georgios Kontargyris as head of Telecommunications and Media, as the company looks to drive growth in this fast-expanding marketplace.

Kontargyris, 37, brings with him extensive experience in the consulting and systems integration sectors. An MBA graduate from the University of Cologne, he spent his early career at Capgemini Ernst & Young, where he was involved in the successful launch of new Capgemini services to the telecoms and media markets. He then joined Vodafone where he was responsible for introducing global Framework Agreements with international clients worldwide, resulting in an increase in revenue and ARPU of 60 per cent in the first year.

Kontargyris joins Cirquent from Amdocs Software, where he was head of consulting, Central Europe, with responsibility for global telecommunications in EMAPA, Central and Northern Europe.

At Cirquent he will be responsible for spearheading the consultancy firm’s ambitious expansion across the telecoms and media markets which, the company believes, represent one of the biggest growth opportunities for the firm looking ahead. “We already have a strong presence in these important sectors,” confirms Kontargyris, “with major existing clients in the UK, for example.”

“However, we plan to invest heavily in this area, both in terms of recruitment and in building strong partnerships. We will extend our international service and support offering in areas of especially strong potential, such as Value Added Services and CRM.

Cirquent already supports clients in their CRM Strategy and is one of the major CRM systems integrators in Central Europe. “We believe that the area of Value Added Services is fast growing,” he says, “and we plan to invest in capabilities to integrate new services such as Mobile Advertising and new Mobile Internet Applications.”

Ragnar Wachter, member of the executive board, says: “Georgios certainly has the necessary blend of sector skills and experience to ensure we meet our ambitious targets in this area. With the additional impetus provided by our new parent company, NTT Data, we are ideally placed to deliver practical global-quality solutions combined with more personalised and flexible local delivery.”
