Huron Consulting Group announces new managing directors

Huron Consulting Group, the provider of financial and operational consulting services, has announced that Michael A. Cavan, Gary F. Dowling and Gregory M. Duncan have joined the Company as managing directors.

"Huron continues to place value on its people, seeking out professionals who enhance and expand our capabilities in the marketplace," said Gary E. Holdren, chairman and chief executive officer, Huron Consulting Group. "I am confident that Mike, Gary and Greg, with deep knowledge in their respective fields, will bring increased capabilities to Huron and the many organizations and companies that we serve."

Cavan has more than 20 years of experience in corporate turnarounds and restructuring. During his career, he has also performed numerous business reviews for both debtors and creditors and has helped to guide several corporate clients through successful turnarounds. Cavan also served in the roles of interim chief financial officer and chief operating officer for clients and has been responsible for business integration during mergers and acquisitions. Cavan, a Certified Turnaround Professional, Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, and a Certified Management Accountant, comes to Huron after leading West Coast practices for other significant consulting firms. He will be based in Huron's Los Angeles office.

Dowling has extensive experience in the healthcare supply chain from manufacturer to provider. For the past 27 years, he has held executive leadership roles at hospitals, healthcare organizations and in each segment of the healthcare supply chain: providers, medical and pharmaceutical distributors, logistics provider, manufacturer, and healthcare IT provider. Dowling comes to Huron from BearingPoint, where he was a managing director of their healthcare supply chain management practice, assisting clients in supply chain management and non-labor cost reduction engagements. Prior to that, he was a partner at Deloitte Consulting. Dowling will be based in Huron's Atlanta office.

Duncan, an economist, has provided consulting services for more than 20 years in economics, statistics, marketing research, and intellectual property in the financial, energy and telecommunications industries. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Business Administration at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a Visiting Professor of Economics and of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to Deloitte, Duncan was a senior vice president at National Economic Research Associates (NERA), where he headed their worldwide telecommunications strategy and advice practice, and headed and founded their auctions practice. He has also provided expert testimony in federal courts. Duncan has a Ph.D. in Economics and an M.A. in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. He will be based in Huron's San Francisco office.
