Hitachi Consulting managing VP named to top 25 consultants list

For the third consecutive year, a member of the Hitachi Consulting executive leadership team has been named to the prestigious Top 25 Consultants list by Consulting magazine. Tamra Chandler, managing vice president for Global Solutions and People for Hitachi Consulting, is the latest company leader to be honoured.

Chandler joins consultants from 21 other top firms on this year's list, including A.T. Kearney, Bain & Company, The Boston Consulting Group, IBM Global Business Solutions, Deloitte Consulting, Oliver Wyman, KPMG, Booz Allan Hamilton, Accenture and others. The award profiles strategists, technologists and management thinkers, ranking them among the most influential leaders in their industry. Her ranking follows Hitachi Consulting COO Phil Parr's 2006 award and President and CEO Michael Travis' 2005 inclusion.

The number of women making the ranking is growing. Chandler is one of five women to make this year's list. Over the past five years, a total of 12 women were named a Top 25 consultant. “I think the number of women on our list illustrates the growing impact and influence that women are having on the business of consulting,” said Joseph Kornik, editor-in-chief, Consulting magazine.

Chandler was recognized for her leadership and strategic impact on Hitachi Consulting's culture and approach to consulting. In 2003, she undertook the internal integration of the six heritage companies into a cohesive and consistent delivery organization. Employing her organizational and change management skills, she focused her efforts on blending the best of the heritage approaches to people and client management to build a common culture, methodology and tools for Hitachi Consulting. Chandler's efforts have been credited with improving employee retention and client satisfaction, as well as dramatically increasing the capture of intellectual capital.

Chandler has almost 20 years of experience in helping clients through change programs designed to enhance business performance. She has developed a reputation for managing complex business integration projects that require a blend of strategy, technical and change management skills. In her role at Hitachi Consulting, Chandler leads several key processes, including the design and execution of the company's solution strategy, oversight of the employee life cycle and experience, and development of the core delivery infrastructure, including the knowledge management systems and delivery methodology. In addition, she works closely with the company's Global Consulting Committee and leadership in Europe and Japan to ensure appropriate consistency around the globe in the firm's solutions and delivery infrastructure.
