MCA elects new president
Andrew Crowley, Vice President of Financial Services EMEA, CSC has been elected President of the Management Consultancies Association (MCA), the trade association for UK-based consulting firms. Crowley takes over this annual position from Alan Russell, Director of LogicaCMG's consulting unit. MCA members represent 70 per cent(1) of the UK consulting industry, employ over 50,000 consultants and work with the FTSE 100 and all government departments.
Crowley started his career as an Electronics Research & Development Engineer in Core Banking Systems. He later joined CSC through the acquisition of Butler Cox in 1991 by CSC Index and has subsequently consulted with multinationals on large scale re-engineering programmes.
Crowley is currently Vice President of Financial Services EMEA, leading the continued growth of CSC EMEA's consulting business. In his 16 years at CSC, Crowley has previously managed CSC's German, UK, and Danish Consulting & Systems Integration businesses.
Commenting on his role at the MCA, Andrew Crowley said:
"I am delighted to be elected President of the Management Consultancies Association. With demand for consulting high, and the consulting industry contributing over £8billion to the UK economy, the industry is demonstrating that through greater transparency and a better understanding of the value delivered by consulting firms, it is continuing to grow year on year."
Andrew Crowley will be supported by three Vice-Presidents:
Paul Winter, Chief Executive, Corpra
Nick Owen, Head of Market and Service Programmes, Deloitte
Hugo Were, Partner, Accenture

(1) Fee income from MCA member firms is estimated to be roughly 70 per cent of the total UK consulting industry. The other 30 per cent consists of mainly strategy firms, firms too small to be eligible for membership of the MCA and independent consultants.
