buyingTeam shortlisted for global outsourcing award
The procurement outsourcing relationship between Universal Music and buyingTeam, a procurement specialist, has been shortlisted for the global 2007 Outsourcing Excellence Awards.
The awards, produced by Outsourcing Center and sponsored by Everest Group and Forbes, recognise outstanding outsource relationships across all disciplines including Finance & Accounting, HR and IT as well as Procurement.
buyingTeam’s relationship with Universal Music was recognised in the UK when it was awarded overall winner at the 2005 CIPS Supply Management Awards. This nomination recognises it as outstanding both globally and beyond the procurement space.
Matthew Eatough, buyingTeam’s Managing Director says “Being shortlisted as one of the best globally is a real accolade. Not only does it demonstrate the strength of our approach and our relationships with our outsource clients but also the increasing importance of procurement outsourcing.”
David Bryant, CFO for Universal Music Group says “Our relationship with buyingTeam is truly integral to our business. What’s great is that it has evolved continually going far beyond procurement in the traditional sense to really adding commercial value”.
Other finalists include global consultancy firms such as Accenture, Capgemini, HP and Hewitt. buyingTeam is the only procurement specialist to have reached this stage.
The winners will be announced in June and recognised at the “Oscars of Outsourcing” ceremony in New York later this year.
