BearingPoint to install New HR & payroll system for North Carolina
BearingPoint will replace North Carolina's antiquated 30-year-old human resource and payroll computer systems with advanced technology that will eliminate most paper forms and give State employees the ability to view and change personal information online. They will be able to change items such as home address and phone numbers and emergency contact information. State employees will also be able to view and print both current and past pay check details online. As the systems integrator on the project, BearingPoint will be responsible for program management and implementation for the new system, which will be built using SAP's mySAP product.
The new human resource and payroll system project, BEACON (Building Enterprise Access for NC's Core Operating Needs), will help more than 80,000 state employees to make better informed decisions about their careers and employment benefits; streamline business processes to drive efficiency; and enhance productivity for employees managing HR and payroll services. The initiative should also provide a single repository with a common set of data elements to support the state's ongoing reporting and management activities.
