Navy extends BearingPoint’s electronic records contract
BearingPoint has been selected by the Department of Navy (DON) to continue leading the Navy's efforts in rolling out the world's largest Electronic Records Management Solution (ERMS).
BearingPoint was originally awarded a six-month contract in January 2006 to assist the DON in deployment of Tower Software's TRIM Context application for Electronic Records Management, an application now available to all 260,000-plus Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) users. The DON recently exercised its first contract option to continue to have BearingPoint's support and leadership on this project through 2006. The total value of the contract, with options, is valued at $8 million.
Currently, 17 of the 52 major DON commands have begun to use the solution, and in just six months over 350,000 Navy Records are now being managed within the ERMS. Prior to this contract, BearingPoint assisted the DON Office of Records Management in the design of a standard configuration for its ERMS; BearingPoint also assisted in the management of a detailed evaluation and pilot testing of an initial solution configuration in the spring of 2005.
