BearingPoint has appointed Russ Berland, who has extensive experience in business ethics and corporate compliance, including legal, strategic, operational and investigative aspects, as the company’s Chief Compliance Officer.

Berland will be responsible for reinforcing the culture of integrity at BearingPoint and leading efforts to keep BearingPoint's compliance programs and training current and aligned with industry best practices and the design and development of centralized, comprehensive compliance reporting, monitoring and remediation systems.
Berland has 14 years of compliance and legal experience, most recently in the Office of Business Practices at Hewlett-Packard Co., where he designed and implemented compliance systems in support of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, developed and applied ethics and compliance policies and training programs, and conducted internal investigations. Previously he was Senior Counsel at Compaq Computer Corporation (which merged into Hewlett-Packard) managing commercial and employment litigation and advising management on compliance and fraud prevention issues.Berland also was an attorney for a private firm and Sprint after completing his federal court clerkship.
