The alliance will deliver two first-in-market solutions that will accelerate the ability of the CIO (Chief Information Officer) to effectively manage the IT function as a business.

BearingPoint and CA propose two new IT management solutions

Today, IT organisations suffer from layers of complexity that are crippling IT’s ability to demonstrate value to its business partners. Most IT organisations are now seeking more innovative approaches to manage IT better both from a service and financial perspective. The internal customers of IT organisations no longer perceive that they are buying value from IT. This is because they cannot clearly understand the services it provides, or the cost that underlines them. Building on an existing global relationship, two innovative solutions have been created to simplify IT management. These solutions combine BearingPoint’s deep experience and methodologies with CA’s leading Business Service Optimisation software enabling CIOs to derive unique value from IT and thus deliver to its business partners.

The first solution ‘Service Portfolio Management’ is concerned with managing IT demand through implementing explainable IT Services. The second solution focuses on how to maximize the value of change through effective ‘Project Portfolio Management’. Both solutions bring together unique, first-in-market techniques and technology to make IT more transparent, accountable and understandable to the business.

Speaking of the announcement, Martin Warner, Practice Director at BearingPoint, commented: “This is a further example of BearingPoint’s intent to provide the necessary innovation and take a lead in the IT Management market. We are also delighted to be strengthening our relationship with CA so that we combine to deliver effective solutions for our customers.”

Alan Banks, VP & General Manager of CA’s Western Region, added: “CA is in prime position to dominate the rapidly emerging IT management market with its Enterprise IT Management vision. We have chosen to work with BearingPoint because they can communicate the strategic business problem and together we can deliver on these compelling solutions.”

BearingPoint already has a fast growing IT Management practice that delivers pragmatic customer value through a unique balance of strategic advisory, business consulting and delivery services across the IT spectrum.

These two solutions take advantage of the convergence wave that is gripping the IT Management market to deliver more innovative solutions to IT and its business partners.
