BearingPoint has named S.Singh Mecker senior vice president of technology consulting.

In this newly-created position, Mecker will be responsible for identifying, developing and bringing to market high-value, cross-industry solutions along with managing BearingPoint's strategic alliances with technology providers.
Mecker was most recently CEO and President of Valdero, a venture-backed startup providing Web-based software for business performance management and analytics to manufacturers, which he co-founded in 2001. In this role, he was responsible for defining the overall strategy for Valdero's growth and positioning in the market while overseeing all day-to-day sales, marketing and product development activities that led to Valdero being recognized as a leader in its space.
Prior to Valdero, Mecker served in several senior management roles at KPMG Consulting, responsible for consulting practices for Internet Business Solutions as well as Supply Chain Management. Mecker has also held product management and development positions at PeopleSoft and Oracle. Mecker will be based in BearingPoint's Mountain View, California, offices.
