Former BearingPoint chief executive Rand Blazer has been named president and general manager of SAP Public Services.

In his new position, Blazer will oversee the company's public sector sales to the Defense Department, federal civilian agencies, homeland security, state and local governments, defense and security companies and education customers in the United States.
Blazer resigned as CEO of BearingPoint in November 2004.
