Rose will be based in BCG's New York office.

Rose was executive vice president at EMI Group PLC for the past three years, responsible for strategy and corporate development, new media, industry and government affairs, and global asset management. Before EMI, Rose spent almost 20 years with McKinsey & Company, where he was a director and co-led the global media and entertainment practice.

At EMI, Rose was responsible for developing and overseeing the firm's digital business, crafting its anti-piracy efforts, leading its cost restructuring, and heading up board-level initiatives to identify and evaluate strategic options for the group.

He also sits on numerous music-industry and not-for-profit boards such as those of WNYC, Young Audiences, and the IFPI.
