Shrader, the firm's seventh chairman since its founding in 1914, took office in 1999, and now will lead the firm until October 2009. With Shrader at the helm, the firm has grown from 9,000 employees with sales of $1.5 billion, to more than 16,000 employees with sales of $2.7 billion today, an 80 percent increase.

Shrader, 60, has been with the firm for 30 years, and has led business units in Booz Allen's commercial and government sectors. He joined Booz Allen in 1974 and was elected a vice president in 1978. He formerly served as President of the firm's Worldwide Technology Business, one of the firm's two major business units. Shrader's personal consulting practice centers on the global communications industry and he has led major assignments for telecommunications companies in the United States, Europe, and Latin America.
