  Booz Allen Hamilton continues to strengthen its public sector practice in Germany with the appointment of Matthias Machnig, 43, effective 1 January, 2004.

Machnig will be responsible for the transformation of public enterprises particularly in the areas of health services and infrastructure. He will join the management team of the European public sector business led by Dr. René Perillieux and Dr. Gerd Wittkemper.

Booz Allen has been working with governments and public institutions for decades; nearly half of its consulting business worldwide falls into this category. Booz Allen developed an Internet Policy concept for the British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Since July 2001 Booz Allen has been supporting the Bundesministerium des Inneren with the development of "BundOnline 2005", the eGovernment initiative of the Bundesregierung.

Maching previously served as a Bundesregierung manager for the SPD from 1999 to 2002.
