The companies said they are better off as separate firms.

Booz & Co and A.T. Kearney call off merger talks

Booz & Company and A.T. Kearney confirm that they have ended discussions about a possible merger of their two partnerships.

The firms said they have determined that their future aspirations will be best realized as separate partnerships.

The merger would have put the combined firm in third place among independent strategy consultants, behind McKinsey and the Boston Consulting Group.

A.T. Kearney’s last year revenues were $786 million, down from about $900m the previous year. Booz & Co had revenues of about $1bn last year.

A.T. Kearney has 2,700 employees, of which about 240 are partners, in 37 countries worldwide. Booz & Co has 3,300 staff and about 200 partners in 33 countries.
