Booz Allen Hamilton has been selected by G.I.Jobs as a Top 50 Military-Friendly employer for the fourth time in a row.
Booz Allen Hamilton named to G.I. Jobs’ Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers list
The firm is highlighted for its Armed Services Forum and efforts to reintegrate veterans back into the workplace. Booz Allen is also honoring our nation’s veterans through the sponsorship of an US Air Force Band concert titled, America’s Veterans: A Musical Tribute. The concert was held at Strathmore Hall this past June and recorded for broadcast on PBS stations around the country.
Booz Allen provides support to veterans and wounded soldiers through forum groups, training, and tools. With 1,500 Armed Services Forum members, Booz Allen believes it is an important resource for insights into easing the transition from the battlefield to a business environment. The firm addresses the needs of “Workplace Warriors,” civilian soldiers returning from active duty – often in combat zones – to jobs in the corporate world. Training courses such as Veterans’ Transition and Professional Development, which is designed for transitioning military veterans and provides in-depth analysis of the cultures of the US military and Booz Allen and how and why they are different, are available to the firm’s veterans. They also have access to tools and resources like the firm’s Employee Assistance Program which offers around the clock confidential counseling services to assist employees and their family members.
In addition to helping workplace warriors, Booz Allen is paying tribute to the men and women of the US Armed Forces as a corporate sponsor for the third annual concert series -- America’s Veterans: A Musical Tribute -- in partnership with Strathmore Hall Arts Center, the US Air Force Band, and Maryland Public Television. The concert is designed to elevate the Veterans Day holiday experience for the national audience and promote better understanding by the public of the roles of our men and women in uniform. It stars actor Lou Gossett, Jr. as Master of Ceremonies and features the United States Air Force Symphony Orchestra and the Singing Sergeants, along with guest artists Michael Feinstein, Ronan Tynan, and Shemekia Copeland. Viewers are expected to tune in from more than 80% of the public television station markets nationwide.
In 2009, for the fifth consecutive year, Fortune magazine named Booz Allen one of “The 100 Best Companies to Work For,” and Working Mother magazine has ranked the firm among its “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” annually since 1999.
