KPMG is the only Big Four firm to be named in ‘Top Employers for Working Families’ list.
KPMG recognised amongst top employers for working parents and carers
KPMG has been named on Working Families’ first ever list of employers that do most to support their working parents and carers today. KPMG was amongst the 20 organisations which made the list, with the firm being the only representative from the accountancy sector.
The list celebrates 30 years of Working Families commitment to work-life balance. In commemoration of this anniversary Working Families launched today its inaugural list of the best family-friendly employers from the last three decades. The list is a partner initiative of the UK’s first ever National Family Week (25th-31st May).
The criteria used to judge the organisations comprised of flexible working arrangements, childcare provision, maternity and/or paternity policy and help with eldercare responsibilities.
Rachel Campbell, Head People at KPMG comments: “To be named as a family-friendly employer by Working Families is a tremendous achievement for us. In our day-to-day work we continually endeavour to strike a work-life balance and it’s not always easy to accomplish - we know many of our own clients share this dilemma.
“Working parents and carers need flexibility if they are to manage their work-life successfully. Equipping your people with the tools to balance home and work life leads to a more effective workforce and, ultimately, business.
“At KPMG, we continue to strive to support parents and carers through flexible working and other innovative initiatives. For instance, our Retaining Talented Women initiative has helped us retain our best talent after maternity leave (90 per cent). We are very pleased to have been recognised for the progress we have made, though we appreciate that there is always more to do as the complexities involved in balancing work and parenting/caring only seem to get greater.”
