Deloitte takes top consulting awards
Deloitte has taken three category awards and the Platinum Award for best overall project at the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Management Awards. The MCA Management Awards recognise the role of management consultants in significantly improving the performance of private and public organisations.
David Owen, head of Deloitte’s consulting practice said: “These awards reflect the strength of Deloitte’s consulting capability. They are testament to our high quality work in what are business critical programmes for large, complex and top tier clients.
“I’m very proud of all the hard work put in by the teams involved, it is a huge achievement. Above all, the awards prove that Deloitte knows how to support its clients in some very challenging markets.”

Platinum Award and Environment Award: Deloitte/Transport for London
Deloitte managed the overall programme and provided specialist consulting and technical expertise that enabled successful implementation of Transport for London’s Low Emission Zone (LEZ). The LEZ considerably reduced the number of polluting vehicles entering Greater London, a city with some of the worst air quality in Europe. The project also successfully engaged with stakeholders, such as the freight industry. The result was 95% compliance within four months.
Human Resources Award: Deloitte/Thomson Reuters
Thomson’s acquisition of Reuters, two of the world’s largest news and information providers, presented a series of challenges and required the integration of more than 50,000 staff in almost 100 countries. Deloitte worked with Thomson Reuters to manage the change, integrate HR systems and develop a unified HR leadership team that enabled employees to work effectively within a fast-changing and uncertain environment.
Outsourcing Award: Deloitte/Unilever
Unilever asked Deloitte to help sell its two Shared Service Centres in Brazil and Chile and negotiate the initial sale and ongoing provision of outsourced financial services with the new owner. By divesting the centres, Unilever would be able to focus on growing revenue and profitability in the region by concentrating on core business activities. Over a 12 week period, Deloitte deployed a team of experts in Santiago, Sao Paolo, New York and London to successfully negotiate the upfront sale agreement involving a cash payment and a favourable ongoing service contract for Unilever.
