For Atos Origin the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games have been an opportunity to develop and extend its footprint in what is now the world's fastest growing market.

Legacy of the Beijing Games for Atos Origin in China

In the last two years, Atos Origin, which has over 1000 employees in China, has signed a contract with ChemChina to deliver one of largest IT enabled business transformation projects. It has also extended its contract with Bank of China and has identified opportunities to provide IT services behind other major events and organisations in China.

Following the launch of Atos Consulting in 2007 in China, which has already grown from fewer than 10 to 100 business consultants, Atos Origin in China is now delivering complete design, build and operate IT solutions to its clients in four markets: Financial Services; Discrete Manufacturing; Chemicals and Energy.

A focus for Atos Origin worldwide is payments. In China, the company has been delivering payment solutions and services to 6 out of the top 10 credit card issuers for more than 20 years, supporting more than 30 million credit cards annually.

In June 2008, Atos Origin set up a competency center in Beijing to offer its portfolio of technical automation solutions to the civil nuclear industry and the oil & gas markets in the region.

In Feb 2008, Atos Origin entered into a comprehensive agreement to forge a long-term partnership with Beijing International MBA at Peking University (BiMBA), one of the leading business schools in China. At the same time, Atos Origin has also embarked on a number of initiatives to support the community in China. For example, it is supporting two Paralympic athletes - Bian Jianxin and Li Duan. The company also invited 6 students, 2 teachers from 2 schools, who survived the earthquake in Dujiangyan in Sichuan to visit Beijing during the Olympic Games and to attend some of the competition events.
