Accenture wins contract from Sun Life Financial Canada

Accenture has signed a multi-year application services agreement with Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, a member of the Sun Life Financial group of companies, to develop, implement and manage a variety of applications that support the insurer’s operations in Canada.

The agreement is designed to help Sun Life Financial improve service for its customers and to enhance overall information technology (IT) and operational efficiencies.

“IT excellence is vital to the rapid expansion and continued quality of our business operations,” said Alice Thomas, Vice-President Business Solutions Engineering for Sun Life Financial. “Accenture’s knowledge of our business and expertise in IT transformation make them a great business partner, which allows us to accelerate the lifecycle development of applications, optimize costs and add value to our business.”

Piyush Bhatnagar, a senior executive in Accenture’s Financial Services group, said: “Our objective is not only to deliver cost savings to Sun Life Financial but to help them remain focused on their core business of delivering top-quality insurance and wealth management services to their customers.”
