Deloitte, the business advisory firm, is boosting its expanding pensions practice with the hire of two senior partners from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Deloitte boosts pensions team with senior hires

Richard Slater will join Deloitte from PwC’s Edinburgh office and Mark McClintock will join Deloitte from PwC’s Belfast office. Between them, they bring 35 years experience of pensions advisory services.

Tony Clare, head of the pensions team at Deloitte, commented: “Richard and Mark are highly rated pensions professionals with a wealth of knowledge and experience. They will add invaluable expertise to the team and ensure that Deloitte provide our clients, pension fund trustees and corporates with advice that is second to none. They will significantly increase our capability in our regional markets and we will continue to grow our trustee advisory team across the UK.”

Feargus Mitchell, head of Deloitte’s human capital practice, added: “We have been very clear in our ambition to build a market leading pensions practice in the UK, and these latest hires underline this intent. We have a dedicated pensions group of over 100 people and will continue to bring in new talent and broaden our expertise to ensure we are increasingly well placed to help both businesses and trustees tackle the pensions challenges and opportunities they face.”

McClintock has nearly 20 years of specialist pensions experience and led PwC’s UK trustee services business. He has advised many of Northern Ireland’s highest profile private sector businesses and a variety of public sector bodies, local government bodies and financial services companies.

Slater has over 20 years experience in pensions consulting including time at Bacon & Woodrow, Aon and PWC. Richard Slater became a partner at PWC in July 2009.
